All Together in Dignity (ATD) full time volunteers are people who have a long-term commitment with those living in extreme poverty.  ATD gathers people from all backgrounds in order to think, act and live together differently.  Within communities and families facing persistent poverty, they support and create projects and programs that reinforce people’s daily efforts to have a better life.  Examples of these projects include street libraries, peer support forums, human rights workshops, youth groups, etc.  We also carry out public campaigns and advocacy at a national and international level.In early 2018, there were 411 ATD full time volunteers (299 women…

Family Visits and Cultural Outings

Family Support An integral part of the work done at ATD Ireland are the family visits, cultural outings and family support.  These have recently picked up again after some easing of the Covid- 19 restrictions. ATD Ireland’s work on socio-economic discrimination

What is socio- economic discrimination? Lancement de l’Exposition: La discrimination socio-économique sous le prisme de la créativité

ATD a tenu une exposition artistique à l’EPIC Centre, Customs House Quay à Dublin du 27 au 31 octobre.  Cette exposition présentait le travail réalisé sur le livre Lookdown Liberties et sur les pièces d’argile produites lors d’ateliers artistiques. UN Day for the Eradication of Poverty

Sunday 17 October, the Irish event marking the UN Day for the Eradication of Poverty was held in Custom’s House Quay in Dublin.  The theme for this year’s event ‘Its Time to Change and End Persistent Poverty’ was inspired by condensing the international theme “Building Forward Together: Ending Persistent Poverty, Respecting all People and our Planet” and focusing on its core message - which we interpreted as - the radical need for ‘change’, now more so than ever.  We visualised this as a butterfly emerging from a cocoon.  The concept of the butterfly emerging from its cocoon stemmed from the idea…
