International Committee for October 17 will meet in Dublin!
Day for the Eradication of Poverty was first marked at a major public rally held on 17 October 1987 in Paris, which was organised by ATD Fourth World. In 1992, the United Nations declared the 17 October as the International Day. In 2008, an International Committee for October 17 was established to promote the awareness and commemoration of the UN Day around the world. From 12th to 14th May 2014, this International Committee will gather in Dublin for its biennial working meeting.
