Poverty Awareness Practice with Trinity College

Youth meet- up in the Netherlands!

On the 4- 6th March team members Ciara and Tara, along with community activist Gavin travelled to Wijhe, the Netherlands for to take part in a meet up for the ATD European Youth Dynamic.   The purpose of this trip was a preparatory weekend for a larger youth meet up in July which will hopefully lead to young people from this dynamic having their voices heard at the European Parliament in Strasbourg in 2023.  The weekend in Wijhe included countries from Ireland, France, the Netherlands, Poland, Belgium, Luxembourg and Spain. Through Our Lens at Last: The Stories Untold

ATD Ireland are finalising our new film project on socio- economic discrimination. This film aims to outline the experience of socio - economic discrimination from the perspective of those who have experienced it. It has a particular focus on socio - economic discrimination as experienced by young people from four disadvantaged communities in Dublin: Ballymun, Ballyfermot, Darndale and the North Inner City, in addition to highlighting the experience of those growing up in care. We are currently having an open office day every Tuesday 11 - 4 pm.  Each week we will be doing a different free and fun activity together such as art & DIY, fitness, cooking, nature walks, singing, etc.We will also provide some lunch and a safe community space for nice chats to happen over a cuppa. Take part in what you choose! Dignity in Dialogue- Zoom session

This week the ATD Ireland team supported by the Presentation Sisters and the Christian Brothers presented a series of Understanding the Hidden Dimensions of Poverty workshops in collaboration with the Margaret Alyward Centre. Internship with ATD Ireland

ATD International Volunteer Corps

All Together in Dignity (ATD) full time volunteers are people who have a long-term commitment with those living in extreme poverty.  ATD gathers people from all backgrounds in order to think, act and live together differently.  Within communities and families facing persistent poverty, they support and create projects and programs that reinforce people’s daily efforts to have a better life.  Examples of these projects include street libraries, peer support forums, human rights workshops, youth groups, etc.  We also carry out public campaigns and advocacy at a national and international level.In early 2018, there were 411 ATD full time volunteers (299 women…
