ATD Ireland AGM & Annual Report 2024
On Thursday 15th May 2025, ATD Ireland held our 2024 Annual General Meeting in our office and on Zoom. We also officially publish our 2024 Annual Report. Click here or the picture below to read in full.
Our wonderful Chairperson Juliette welcomed everyone to the meeting, confirmed the members in attendance, proxies and apologies.
We presented the 2024 Annual Report, including some key actions. Alongside our key projects and actions, our annual report aims to also showcase our commitment to efficient and proper governance within our organisation.
Our 2024 annual report this year is structured around our Strategic Goals, alongside our ATD Ireland core values identified as part of an ongoing piece of work funded by Critical Social Policy.


Annmarie and Bernadette presented on family visits and outings. They discussed the importance to keep coming back, especially when someone is struggling. They discussed the mutual learning that takes place and the often fun memories which are created. Andrew spoke about the community outings and the value in these for strengthening familial, friendship and community bonds. Veronica and Juliette presented on Community Open Days. They spoke about the value in having somewhere to share your skills and interests, and the importance of these Tuesdays in being somewhere where people from diverse backgrounds can come together.
Craig and Joe spoke about the project Creative Pathways to Participation, and we also paid reference to it winning a Creative Lives Award.


Nessan presented information about the Community Conversations on Socio-economic Discrimination. He thanked everyone who took part and reflected on the important insights and knowledge shared from the diverse speakers in the film.
Ruby and Marie presented the Leave No One Behind Series 4. Marie spoke about how the women she works with often do not have the opportunity to take part in creative action like this for themselves and she shared some quotes from the workshop we did together.


Brian on Zoom presented on October 17th, sharing about the brave testimonies shared by those with experience of poverty, the wonderful music and the importance of the attendance of Minister Joe O’ Brien and Lord Mayor of Dublin James Geoghegan. He referenced the special 25th Commemoration of the UN Day for the Eradication of Poverty in Dublin this year.
Andrew presented on October 17th in Dakar, Senegal, which he attended as a member of the international 17th October Committee. “I start to wonder, is poverty made by other human beings? I mean everyone on this planet deserves to have an identity. What gives a person the right to say, you don’t matter, you don’t exist?“


Patricia presented on the Christmas carol singing, the joy shared and the great fun had, as well as the necessary funds raised for ATD Ireland. John shared information on the new ATD Ireland fundraising working group. We showcased a new flyer containing an ATD Ireland strapline and blurb. He also spoke about our other fundraising efforts such as the Tesco Community Fund and reaching out to corporates.
We were delighted to welcome four new members to the ATD Ireland company. This includes Melissa researcher with DCU, and who has supported us with many projects including “Breaking Barriers: A Participatory Approach to Defining Socio-Economic Discrimination” and “Community Conversation: Time to Recognise Socio- Economic Discrimination in our Equality Legislation”. We also welcomed Patricia who has been volunteering regularly over the past year, is a member of our fundraising working group, and who spoke about our Christmas Carol singing. We welcomed Tebogo Cindy who completed a student placement with us as part of her studies in Maynooth University, played a valuable role in our Tuesday Open House and in our Leave No One Behind workshop series. Finally we welcome Ann Marie who has been a valued member and Community Activist in the ATD Ireland community for over 20 years taking part in numerous projects over this time, most recently, Creative Pathways to Participation. Recently also she has been expertly sprucing up our little ATD Ireland office garden. Thank you to them all.


The audited accounts for 2024 were presented by Tom O’Brien from Carroll & Associates Ltd. After a question from Nessan, Tom confirmed that it is a clean unqualified audit. Tom was thanked for his work putting together the audited accounts and Pat O’Gorman our Treasurer and John Noonan were also thanked for all their help with financial matters. The members agreed that Carroll & Associates Ltd. would continue as the company auditors for 2025.


Pierre spoke on ATD Ireland’s success. He is happy to see knew faces and see the community changing and growing. Happy to hear Annmarie is now a member of the Company and to see Christina and Jimmy.
· Paul Ginnell congratulated the Team on its great work and mentioned that Senator Chris Andrews is bringing the Socio-Economic Discrimination Bill to the Seánad on Wednesday 21st May and that it would be great to have representation from ATD.
Juliette concluded the meeting, with many of the members in attendance at the office staying on to share news and conversation.
Thank you so much to each of our ATD Ireland members and to everyone who supported our work in 2024, and who has continued to in 2025. It is a real privilege to have such a diverse, supportive and creative community around us committed to working towards the eradication of poverty.
