Over the summer the ATD Ireland community have been embarking on a number of summer outings.   We also made use of the sunshine to take in the sights of the Dun Laoghaire to Sandycove coast walk.  We got a history lesson and took in some culture and the James Joyce museum.  Our writers learning about the classics!  (Click here to read Creative Pathways to Participation). Our tour guide was full of knowledge and ready to answer all our groups insightful questions!

On another day we made the most of the slivers of sunshine in between showers as (some of us) braved the waters for swimming at Seapoint, and enjoyed a nourishing picnic and chats.

We took on another beach day in beautiful Greystones for beach games and swimming, and being creatively inspired by the surroundings and time to relax the mind.

Thank you to all our group involved for joining us and helping to plan these memorable days, keeping spirits up when the Irish weather failed and for motivating each other to try new things. See more about our days out through the short clips and hear from the group about their experience!

These outings can support us through getting us out of our everyday routine, building friendship and family bonds, improving health and wellbeing though activity and getting into nature, and exposing us to new culture and knowledge.

More days out to come throughout the autumn!
