ATD Ireland welcome the opportunity to make a submission for the budget 2027.
This work draws on the experience of ATD Ireland and relevant research from CSO and from the community and voluntary sector.
ATD Ireland submits different proposals to understand the multidimensional nature of poverty, which includes income, food, energy poverty and social isolation. In order to increase the income adequacy levels of social welfare rates, ATD Ireland requests:
- Increase of the core working age rate (Jobseekers, one parent family rates etc) by €15.
- Additional support for one-parent households.
- Increase in child supports rates.
- Fuel allowance.
